This is a setup step worth doing carefully, because a timezone mismatch is the most common cause of bookings lining up against the wrong times. Your WordPress timezone and your Google Calendar timezone must be the same.
Set your WordPress timezone
- In WordPress, go to Settings, then General.
- Set Timezone to your city, for example America/New_York, not a fixed UTC offset like UTC-5.
- Save.
A city timezone follows daylight saving automatically, which keeps bookings correct all year. A fixed offset does not, so it drifts by an hour twice a year.
Confirm your Google Calendar timezone
- Open the calendar’s Settings and sharing in Google Calendar.
- Check its timezone and make sure it matches the city you set in WordPress.
A quick check inside DrezSync
On the DrezSync Booking field, the Hours setting shows the timezone DrezSync detected for your site. If it shows a fixed offset instead of a city, or a city that does not match your calendar, fix it in Settings, General before taking bookings.
If times already look wrong
If booked times are removing the wrong slots, or the times look shifted by a few hours, this mismatch is almost always the cause. Correct both timezones to the same city and retest.
