Going from the free version to DrezSync Pro keeps everything you have already set up. Your Google connection, your booking forms, and every booking stay exactly where they are. This article explains why that is safe, and how to do it.
How the upgrade works
DrezSync Pro installs as its own plugin, alongside the free version, rather than replacing it. When you activate Pro, the free version deactivates itself and Pro takes over. They are the same product, so your forms and settings carry straight across.
Why nothing is lost
None of your work lives in the plugin’s files, so adding Pro changes nothing you care about:
- Your Google connection is stored in your site’s database, not in the plugin folder.
- Your booking field settings, such as the calendar, hours, and rules, are stored inside the Gravity Form itself.
- Your bookings are saved as Gravity Forms entries, and the events are already on your Google Calendar.
When Pro loads, your existing forms simply gain the Pro settings, which start at their normal defaults. There is nothing to reconfigure.
How to upgrade
- Buy DrezSync Pro. You will get a license key and a download.
- In WordPress, go to Plugins, then Add New, then Upload Plugin, and upload the Pro zip.
- Activate it. The free version deactivates itself at that point, which is expected.
- Enter your license key to switch the Pro features on.
Your connection, forms, and bookings carry over, and the Pro settings appear on your booking fields.
Removing the free version afterwards
Once Pro is running, the free version sits there deactivated and you can safely delete it from your Plugins screen. Your Google connection, your forms, and your bookings are all unaffected. DrezSync only clears its stored Google connection when the last copy of it is removed from the site, so deleting the free version while Pro is installed leaves everything intact.
Downgrading or letting Pro lapse
If a Pro subscription ends, you do not lose anything you have set up. The Pro features you are already using keep working, and your forms and bookings stay intact. A lapsed subscription only stops future updates and priority support, so everything continues as before. Renewing restores the updates and support.
