Symptom: The Invite the customer option is on, but the person who booked says they did not get a calendar invite.
Check these
- Is there an email field? The invite uses the first Email field on the form. Make sure the form has an Email field and the customer filled it in with a valid address.
- Check spam. The invite is sent by Google from your connected Google account. It can land in spam or promotions, so have the customer look there.
- Confirm on the event first. Open the booking’s event in Google Calendar. If the guest is listed on the event, the plugin did its job and this is purely a delivery question. If the guest is not listed, the invite option or the email field is the issue.
Good to know
Because Google sends the invite, not your website, your site’s email setup does not matter here. You do not need an SMTP plugin for the invite to send. That only affects your form’s own notification emails.
When there is no email
If the form has no email field, or the address is blank or invalid, the plugin still writes the event to the calendar and simply skips the invite. Nothing breaks.
