Setting Up and Using Your cPanel Email on iPhone or iPad

Category: E-Mail  •  Est. reading time: 3 minutes

Here is how to get your domain email onto your iPhone or iPad and use it day to day, from adding the account to setting a signature and syncing.

Get Your Exact Settings First

In cPanel, open Email Accounts, find your address, and click Connect Devices. Note the IMAP and SMTP server names and secure ports. We recommend IMAP, which keeps your mail in sync across all your devices.

Add the Account

  1. Open Settings, scroll to Apps, then Mail, and tap Mail Accounts, then Add Account. (On older iOS this is under Settings, then Mail.)
  2. Choose Other, then Add Mail Account.
  3. Enter your name, full email address, password, and a description.
  4. When prompted, choose IMAP and fill in the incoming and outgoing server details from cPanel.
  5. Tap Save. Your mailbox appears in the Mail app.

Everyday Use

Checking and fetching: under Settings, Mail, Accounts, you can set the account to push or fetch, and how often, which balances speed against battery.

Signature: in Settings, Mail, Signature, set a per-account signature so it appears on every message you send from this address.

Note: Apple moves these menus around between iOS versions, so wording may differ on your device. The server settings from cPanel’s Connect Devices page are what matter and stay the same.
