cPanel uses your contact email to warn you about important things, like your account nearing its disk or bandwidth limit. Keeping that address current means you hear about problems before they become outages.
The Steps
- Click your username in the top-right corner of cPanel and choose Contact Information.
- Enter the email address where you want notices to go. Use one you actually check.
- Below that, review the Contact Preferences checkboxes and turn on the alerts you want, such as being notified when your account approaches its quota limit.
- Click Save.
Why the quota alert matters: if your account fills up, your site and email can stop working. An early warning gives you time to clear space or upgrade before anything goes down.
