How to Create or Delete a Directory in FileZilla

A directory is just a folder on your server. FileZilla lets you make new ones and remove old ones in a couple of clicks.

Create a Directory

1. Connect to your server and, in the right panel, open the location where you want the new folder.
2. Right-click in the empty space and choose Create directory.
3. Type a name and confirm.

Delete a Directory

1. In the right panel, find the folder you want to remove.
2. Right-click it and choose Delete.
3. Confirm. The folder and everything inside it is removed.

Careful here: deleting a directory takes its contents with it, and there is no undo over FTP. If you are unsure, download a copy first.
