Moving From the Old Google Calendar Sync Plugin to DrezSync

If you bought our original Google Calendar Sync plugin for Gravity Forms, this guide walks you through moving to DrezSync, the plugin that replaces it. DrezSync is a completely new plugin rather than an update, so you install it fresh. The whole move takes about fifteen minutes.

The free version does everything the original did, including checking your Google Calendar live and blocking times that are already booked. That is all you need to match what you had before.

Step 1: Install DrezSync

In your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins, then Add New. Search for “DrezSync” and install DrezSync: Calendar Booking for Gravity Forms, then activate it. You can also download it from wordpress.org/plugins/drezsync.

Step 2: Connect your Google Calendar

DrezSync includes a guided connection process. Follow the prompts to link the calendar you want bookings to appear on. Our article How to Set Up DrezSync covers this in detail if you get stuck.

Step 3: Add a booking field to your form

Open the Gravity Form you use for bookings, add a DrezSync booking field, and set your available days, hours, and slot length.

Step 4: Test a booking

Submit a test booking through your form and confirm it shows up on your Google Calendar. Then check that the time you booked disappears from the available slots. That confirms the double booking protection is working.

Step 5: Remove the old plugin

Once DrezSync is running the way you want, deactivate and delete the original plugin. Running both at once can cause conflicts, so remove the old one before you go live. Your download of the original stays in your client account for as long as you keep it, so there is nothing to lose by removing it here.
