Sometimes you have an extra domain on your account that you do not want running its own site, you just want it to send visitors to your main website. Redirecting the addon domain does exactly that.
The Steps
- Log in to cPanel and open Redirects in the Domains section.
- Set the type to Permanent (301).
- In the domain dropdown, choose your addon domain.
- In Redirects to, enter your main website’s address.
- Click Add.
Why do this: pointing a spare or misspelled domain at your main site means people who type it still land in the right place, and you capture traffic you would otherwise lose.
